Suspicions quickly started swirling that Summer was back in love. When Chicago drill rapper Rico Recklezz posted a similar bouquet a few weeks later, some eagle-eyed fans began to connect the dots. But it wasn’t until December that the couple became Instagram official, posing together in a photo that confirmed their relationship.

Since then, Rico has been thrust into the spotlight as Summer Walker’s boyfriend. But he certainly had a following of his own before their relationship became public. Rico, whose real name is Ronnie Ramsey, is a Chicago native known for his edgy raps about his city’s street lifestyle. For almost a decade, he has released mixtapes, including Big Recklezz, the 2017 project that landed him on the national music scene.

Big Recklezz may have been the first project to get major attention, but it’s only one of 20 mixtapes Rico Recklezz has released since 2016. Back in 2016, Rico went toe-to-toe with fellow Chicagoan Soulja Boy. The “Kiss Me Thru the Phone” rapper had been beefing with Lil Yachty and threatened to kill him if he visited Chicago.
