Everyone knows Rihanna, the 31-year-old Barbadian entertainer and mogul with nine Grammy Awards, ten signature fragrances, thriving beauty and lingerie lines, and a new high end fashion brand. She was the first black woman to be the face of Dior, and the first black woman to lead global luxury line under LVMH.
But in a new interview with actress Sarah Paulson for Interview Magazine, Rihanna unveiled another side of herself that we never knew, a personal side that very few people ever get to see.
-“People read me as being confident. But I’m so shy I don’t even want you to know I’m shy.”

On her acting in Ocean’s 8, she told Paulson that she was very nervous because of the fact that she is a musician and she felt like she didn’t know anything about acting. Apparently, she still gets nervous going to award shows. (How cute is that!?) Despite her workload and fame, she tries not to forget to take care of herself.
-“It’s only in the last couple years that I started to realize that you need to make time for yourself, because your mental health depends on it.” […] “I’ve made little things a big deal, like going for a walk or going to the grocery store. I got into a new relationship, and it matters to me. It was like, ‘I need to make time for this.’ Just like I nurture my businesses, I need to nurture this as well. I’ll shut things down for two days, three days at a time.”

When asked if she was in love with her new relationship, she said “Of course I am.” Rihanna stayed silent when Paulson poked the question about marriage, but she admitted that she wants to be a mother “more than anything in life.”
The idea of a little Rihanna running around is probably too much for you to handle, so let’s shift the focus to her main child, music. Fans worldwide has been commenting on Rihanna‘s Instagram posts practically begging her for a new album, but to all the pressure, she says —
-“I’m really happy with a lot of the material we have so far, but I am not going to put it out until it’s complete. It makes no sense to rush it, but I want it out.”

Well, at least the queen is understanding of our hunger for new music. She told Paulson that she’s blocked off a solid period of time for the studio next month. Though she’s got her hands full with all the businesses on her hand, being the wealthiest female musician in the world and whatnot, she never forgot her beginnings: “I had one dream, and that was for my music to be heard all over the world.”
We can’t wait to see what’s Rihanna puts out next. But while we’re waiting, let’s all just be glad that she’s still so humble and taking care of herself. We want nothing more to see you happy, MOMMMM!
