Loren spoke on what led to her leaving TMZ during her guest co-hosting gig on The Breakfast Club, which she accepted while the show's main co-host, Jess Hilarious, was on maternity leave. During her first day of the gig, she told hosts Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy that her decision to leave TMZ came after she realized she wanted to have her own show.

"I started feeling like, if I do this here when I leave, they're not going to let me own it," Loren explained, adding TMZ's plan for the show, "wasn't structured the way that I wanted it to be and how I felt like I needed it to be for me to really just grow as a brand and as a company."

Loren added that she felt she needed to take the "leap of faith" and put her energy into her broadcast and media brand, Brown Girl Grinding. While she ultimately needed to choose herself, she was a class act while discussing her time with the outlet, though she noted the outlet should put more of its Black writers and creators in the forefront.

"I wanted to go to school for my master's, and this was the best master's program I could have ever done," Loren said.
