She’s also recognized for playing Chris Rock’s mom in Everybody Hates Chris and for her 40-plus-year friendship with Tisha Campbell. However, not much is known about Tichina Arnold’s daughter, Alijah Kai Haggins. Alijah Kai was born on March 16, 2004. As mentioned, her mother is Tichina Arnold, and her father is Carvin Haggins, a Haitian music producer. Alijah has been on TV since the age of four, making appearances on hit shows like One on One and Everybody Hates Chris.
Who knew? Since then, she has continued to appear in various TV shows and movies, including The Sound of Christmas and Tricked or Treated. Most recently, Alijah starred in Abducted at an HBCU: A Black Girl Missing Movie. In 2025, we can expect to see her in the upcoming film Can You Feel the Beat: The Lisa Lisa Story.

Carvin Haggins is a Grammy Award-winning music producer and multi-platinum songwriter. He is credited with creating some of our favorite neo-soul hits from the early 2000s. Some of his songs include Love by Musiq Soulchild, If You Leave by Mary J. Blige and more classics.
Outside of his career, not much is known about Carvin’s personal and love life. He and Tichina Arnold were together from 2002 to 2005. The two were never married, and there is little information available about why they broke up. Despite their short relationship, they welcomed Alijah in 2004.
It looks like Tichina Arnold’s daughter, Alijah, is building her own legacy by embracing her talents. At almost 21 years old, she’s showing the world what she’s capable of.
