The Breakdown: From being an advocate for “Diva” to her dance partner at the Beyonce Bowl, here are some of the most memorable moments of Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy.
Whenever a famous person has a kid, it’s often wondered what that kid will be like, and most importantly, they will follow in their famous parent’s footsteps. That question has been answered several times in regard to Beyonce’s eldest daughter, Blue Ivy.
From being the youngest artist to appear on any Billboard chart (she was two days old at the time) to winning a Grammy at nine years old, Blue Ivy is already on track to create history just like her mother, Beyonce. Check out some of their biggest moments below.
Blue Ivy Shushing Beyonce and Jay-Z

Blue Ivy shushes Beyonce and Jay-Z during a Camila Cabello performance at the Grammys.
There’s been a running joke on the internet that Beyonce is often parented by her first-born daughter, Blue Ivy. It’s unclear where the origin of that story began, but the first real-life example of that happened in this clip. During the 2018 Grammys, while Beyonce was clapping for Camila Cabello, Blue Ivy didn’t feel like the “Havana” singer deserved any praise and very innocently yet effectively motioned to her mother and father to stop clapping and, in essence, calm down. It was the first time we saw Blue Ivy be precocious, but certainly not the last.
Blue Ivy Advocating For Diva
In a now-viral clip from Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce, we saw Beyonce discussing her tour setlist while Blue looked on. Beyonce said, “I wish we could shorten Diva,” to which someone replied, “Can we take it out?” which really sets Blue Ivy off. “Nooo ... Noo … please, 'Diva?'” she questioned innocently. Beyonce quickly went into motherhood, explaining that Blue can’t cut people off but that she appreciates her opinion. Diva was not cut from the show and was a crowd-pleaser; Blue Ivy was right.
Blue Ivy Performs With Her Beyonce on Renaissance Tour
Speaking of viral moments, Blue Ivy joined the stage with her mother during her sold-out Renaissance Tour. As amateur clips found their way to social media, it showed Blue Ivy performing to her mother Beyonce’s song “My Power” from her 2019 Black is King album. While the Bey Hive rooted for their niece, other parts of the internet had less than nice things to say about her dancing. This got back to Blue Ivy, who worked on her confidence and ultimately stepped up to the plate, won crowds over, and silenced haters on the internet.
Blue Ivy and Beyonce Star in 'Mufasa: The Lion King'
Fresh off her success as a backup dancer, Blue Ivy joined her mother, Beyonce, and starred in the prequel to The Lion King. Blue Ivy voices Kiara, the eldest daughter of Simba and Nala — who is voiced by Beyonce. This was Blue Ivy’s first film and made her mother very proud. More acting from Blue Ivy — we’re pretty sure of it.
Blue Ivy Performs Alongside Her Mother At Beyonce Bowl

Beyonce and Blue Ivy perform during Netflix's 'Beyonce Bowl'.
While most kids were unwrapping gifts on Christmas Day, Blue Ivy was hard at work. She joined her mother, Beyoncé, on stage, performing choreography right alongside her at the halftime show during the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans game. This special performance, unofficially dubbed the "Beyoncé Bowl," was aired on Netflix. It became one of their best and most recent moments together, showcasing their love for each other and performing alike.
