April is here, which means the flowers are blooming — and so is the new lineup of shows and movies on Netflix. Each month, we get excited for the new, the old, and the nostalgic content Netflix has to offer. This time, we’re exploring what’s new and Black on Netflix in April 2025.
'Black Mirror' (April 10th)

While Black Mirror isn’t considered a Black show, each season and episode explores a new topic in the sci-fi world, blending it with parts of our reality. You never really know where each episode is going until you're deep in it — or sometimes not until the end. None of the episodes are connected, and each one features a different cast.
Season 7 includes many Black actors—woot woot! Tracee Ellis Ross, best known for her roles on Black-ish and Girlfriends, brings her talent to the series. Issa Rae, forever that girl for creating and starring in Insecure, also joins the cast. Osy Ikhile, recognized for his role in In the Heart of the Sea, and Siena Kelly, known for Adult Material, complete the list.
'Meet the Khumalos' (April 11)
In Meet the Khumalos, the main character, Grace Khumalo, has a great life — until her high school nemesis, Bongi Sithole, moves in next door.
To make matters worse, their kids fall in love with each other. Now, the lifelong feud between the parents has to be put on hold. In order to break their kids apart, they'll have to work together to make it happen.
'WrestleMania' (April 17)
WrestleMania is taking place in Las Vegas this month, and it’s one of the biggest wrestling event weekends—and Netflix is hosting it!
There will be plenty of special guests making appearances, with a weekend full of exciting things to do. The one and only Wale will be in the building — and guess what? He’s performing! Who doesn’t love some smooth tunes from Wale.
That wraps up this month’s edition of New and Black on Netflix for April 2025! It’s always exciting to see fresh content highlighting Black talent and storytelling. We love witnessing Black actors getting well-deserved opportunities to shine on our screens — and secure the bag while doing it.
