The music industry owes Houston, Texas, whatever it desires. The deeply Southern city is home to some of the industry’s hottest stars, from Beyoncé to the Hottie coach herself, Megan Thee Stallion.

Megan’s star seemingly gets brighter with every power move she makes, and she’s more than deserving of it all. Her status as “that girl” comes from hard work, determination, and the ability to thrive while remaining the ultimate girl’s girl.

With a thriving music career, several Grammys, acting roles, and businesses, the Megan train — or boat — is far from over, even though she’s already accrued more than enough. Just kidding, regarding money and Black women, the limit does not exist!

Megan’s friend and collaborator, Cardi B, said, “My career is taking off.” Meg’s predecessor’s words also rang true for her, as Celebrity Net Worth reported she has amassed a net worth of $30 million since her career expanded in 2018.

Megan, born Megan Pete, began rapping in high school and steadfastly pursued her career while attending college at Texas Southern University. Her efforts paid off when she released her 2018 EP Tina, which featured her single, “Big Ol’ Freak.”

Megan continued putting out hits and, in 2019, started the hottie movement with the phrase and eventual song “Hot Girl Summer.” Then, in 2020, her song “Savage” catapulted her to fame and earned her a Beyonce feature on “Savage (Remix).” Anyone who knows Giselle’s track record with features knows that’s far from a small feat!

Megan has continued expanding her career with multiple brand endorsements, from promoting her favorite snacks, Hot Cheetos, to fashion houses like Calvin Klein and Gaurav Gupta. She is also growing her portfolio in the media and entrepreneurial space.

In October 2024, Megan released her Prime Video documentary, Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words. The revealing documentary followed her journey to fame and the pitfalls that arose, including the death of her mother and manager, Holly Thomas, and the 2020 shooting she endured at the hands of Tory Lanez. After their 2022 trial, Tory was arrested and sentenced to 10 years in prison. Megan also served him with a five-year restraining order while he was imprisoned.

The “Mamuchi” rapper continued her reign in February 2025 when she released another fitting project — a tequila brand. Megan, who put all of us on to driving the boat, debuted CHICAS DIVERTIDAS on her 30th birthday.

“Where are the girls that like to have fun?!” she asked underneath her brand’s promo video.

As her loyal hotties have witnessed, Megan loves surprising us with her decisions, whether in person or behind the scenes. In February 2024, she signed a distribution deal with Warner Music Group that allowed her to work with the label as an independent artist while continuing to use the company's services for distribution, radio promotion, and marketing.

The deal means Megan has 100 percent control of her masters. Her momentous win came after she sued her former label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, over the rights to her music under the company. Megan and 1501’s owner, Carl Crawford, settled the lawsuit in court in October 2023.
