Kandi Burruss’ net worth has left us shooketh! Despite putting down her peach in 2024, the renowned tycoon is still rolling in major dough. It's safe to say we all want to be like Kandi when we grow up.
While the 2010s consisted of the Georgia-bred entertainer’s fifty-leven jobs and controversial love life dominating our TV screens every Sunday night, Kandi’s unparalleled blueprint began its stamp long before the world knew her as a starring cast member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
The “Fly Above” songstress started her trek to international stardom through the best-selling girl group Xscape, an Atlanta-based R&B quartet formed in 1990 alongside Tameka “Tiny” Cottle (Harris) and sisters LaTocha and Tamika Scott. With the group, Kandi obtained legendary success after the ladies inked a deal with super-producer Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def label.
In 1993, their chart-topping debut album, Hummin’ Comin’ at ‘Cha, spawned the hit singles “Just Kickin’ It" and “Understanding” and went certified platinum. Xscape’s second and third projects, Off the Hook (1995) and Traces of My Lipstick (1998), achieved the same status. Reportedly, as of 2023, they’ve sold around 10 million records in the United States.
Xscape is also known for their songs “Love on My Mind” (1994), “Who Can I Run To” (1995), “Do You Want To” (1996), and “My Little Secret” (1998). Celebrated for her high-pitched whistle and unique vocal talent, Kandi became a key asset to the collective’s one-of-a-kind sound.

They ended up penning a song called “No Scrubs,” which would eventually go to esteemed trio TLC and win them a Grammy for Best R&B Song in 2000.
Additionally, during her time away from Xscape, Kandi co-wrote Destiny’s Child’s “Bills, Bills, Bills” and “Bug a Boo” and Pink’s “There You Go,” among others. Kandi’s accomplishments didn't end at Xscape and The Real Housewives of Atlanta. In fact, she (and Tiny) gained recognition for writing Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” (2017). Over the years, we’ve also seen Kandi’s longstanding relationship with Bravo through spin-offs like The Kandi Factory (2013), Kandi’s Ski Trip (2015), Kandi Koated Nights (2018), and Kandi & The Gang (2022). Her latest endeavor with the network, SWV & XSCAPE: The Queens of R&B, came in 2023.
Kandi’s on-screen efforts surpass reality TV, though. She’s credited for portraying Reagan in Lifetime’s Seven Deadly Sins: Envy (2021), Joan in Whatever It Takes (2023), and Judge Tara in The Underdogs (2024). Her most applauded roles happen to be as Roselyn Perry in Lena Waithe’s The Chi and Eboni Phillips in the legal drama Reasonable Doubt.
There is no doubt that Kandi has come a long way from her A Mother’s Love days, a play that she and her husband, Todd, put together in 2014. She and Todd’s 2023 thriller movie, The Pass, garnered worldwide acclaim on the film front. Aside from that, they both act as producers on Broadway’s 2025 revival of Othello, led by Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal. They’ve worked under the theatrical umbrella’s productions for The Wiz and The Piano Lesson as well.
Kandi is also the owner of Bedroom Kandi – a luxurious line of intimate gadgets for couples – and Kandi Koated Cosmetics. She, too, co-owns restaurants Old Lady Gang (established in honor of her mother, Joyce, and two aunts, Bertha Jones and Nora Wilcox, and Blaze Steak and Seafood (named after her youngest daughter).
Her YouTube channel, KandiOnline, is still flourishing, where she posts everything from sit-downs and skits to her podcast, Speak On It. When Kandi is not recording, she’s mentoring PsiRyn, an all-female trio she introduced in 2023.
