You’re Most Likely Wearing The Wrong Bra Size

Let’s be frank here, most of these industries don’t really care about women, much less the size of our bra. Size of our breasts? Yes. But bra? They want us to suffer.

A video posted on YouTube by user Caty back in 2012 completely changed the way I look for my size. After a recommendation to watch it from my own best friend, I’m passing along the spirit stick.

What you absolutely need to know is that your cup size is proportionate to your band size, so if either one changes, the other needs to change as well. In other words, the industries have lied to us.  It doesn’t stop there. Companies like Victoria’s Secret are not measuring you properly. In the video she explains how they measure your bust around the bra, and when looking for this number, you should basically be naked.

So now you’re going to need measuring tape, pen, and paper. Caty links a reddit thread with a guide explaining how to measure yourself. This thread also provides a calculator that does the math part for you.

The example measurements on the thread were as follows:

The last sentence pretty much only makes sense once you see the actual chart (reposted from reddit):

Most of you will be shocked to see your true cup size (I know I was!). Caty explains:

What I learned from this is that the UK seems to have it figured it our when it comes to bra fittings. I hope this information helps some of you too! Now I’m out to live my breast life (haha! ok. sorry).
