The Legacy Collection: Nude Lipsticks For Dark Skin

The Legacy Collection, founded by Edwina Kulego, features a new line of vegan nude lipsticks created for dark skin.
The collection, in collaboration with Celfie Cosmetics, launched this month. Kulego was born and raised in Sweden to Ghanaian parents and manages International Business Development at UBM Fashion Group, where she helps international fashion brands create pathways into the U.S. market. She rose to prominence with a purpose and passion for women empowerment. The Legacy Collection was actually named after her newborn daughter, Legacy. A proper name for the heiress of an innovative line.
She says:
-“Being an African woman in the western world, I’ve always found it challenging to find ‘nudes’ that truly complement darker skin. Whether it’s in shoes, apparel or beauty, finding the right nude hues for women of color can be a hassle. Therefore, I decided to create my own lipstick collection addressing this need called The Legacy Collection.”

The collection introduces us to 6 shades: Liberia, Egypt, Ghana, Angola, Congo, and Yaounde. The colors were “inspired by and represent destinations in Africa.” They vary “from a deep, pigmented chocolate hue to a blissful beige.”

The packaging was inspired by her love of minimalism and one of her favorite color combinations: black and gold (royal af!).
