This past Cyber Monday, black-owned cosmetics brand, The Crayon Case, raked in a million dollars within an hour of its sale.

The New Orleans‘ native Raynel Supa Steward AKA Wuzzum Supa BKA Supacent began building her brand through comedic youtube videos where she was recognized for her personality and comedic timing. Over time she gained a following that led her to a memorable hilarious debut on Kitchen Nightmares in 2011 with Chef Gordon Ramsey. Chef Gordon Ramsey is known for his intense criticism of people’s kitchen work but Supa handled it all with comedy and ease which led to the trending #CookingwithSupa.

As time went on she realized the importance of her brand and when new interests arose, she put her passion into them and then outward. Her site explains:

“Early 2017, Supa became immersed in the world of beauty and makeup. She worked tirelessly to create and birth The Crayon Case. The Crayon Case, a safe haven for amateur make-up artist and newbies to the make-up world, has taken Social Media by storm. Crayon Cuties are obsessed, crashing sites, and begging for re launch days after continuous product sell outs.”

Which is a thoughtful way to brand herself and market the product as she recognized the importance of creating a palette that would be easy to use for those new to makeup.

The power of The Crayon Case amongst users was especially visible this Cyber Monday as it completely rocked Supa’s world.

Her reaction to what she referred to as her “Million Dollar Day” was posted on her IG as she cried tears of gratefulness:
