Taraji P. Henson Receives Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Actress Taraji P. Henson, shed tears of joy as she finally received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this week. Henson thanked her family and fans for being her inspiration and helping her get this far. She couldn’t contain her gratitude, and she had us tearing up too. In her emotional speech, she talked about how important it is for her to break the stigma around Hollywood actresses over 40:
-“I want to be around forever. I want to break through glass ceilings when they tell women over 40 that, ‘Ah, you’re done. We’re sending you out to pasture. We’re going to hire something young and sexy.’”

Close friend and fellow co-star Mary J. Blige also gave a speech and thanked Henson for having “been a total inspiration” to her. Blige gushed with admiration for her friend, continuing on to say, “You helped me when I needed help. And in my mind, that’s rare, because people don’t share and you’re a sharer. So thank you for being a giver and a sharer.” Friend goals af.
Taraji P. Henson has recently announced that she will be producing and starring in a film about Emmett Till, alongside director John Singleton who was also at the ceremony. Her latest project, “What Men Want” , is set to release on February 8, 2019.
The actress shared her proud moment with the rest of the world on Instagram, captioning the photo “#GODIS Thank you Hollywood Chamber of Commerce!!! I am grateful!!! #GodIs 🙏🏾💋💋💋”.
