Shenna Debuts The Official Music Video for “Hope You’re Happy”
We first fell in love with rising songstress Shenna back in 2016 after the release of her debut album, Made of Gold which garnered over 200,000 streams on Spotify. With a new EP on the way titled Blue Memories, Shenna is back with her lead single and video for “Hope You’re Happy”, a dreamy yet up-tempo track with a message about our generations addiction to social media. With lyrics stating: tell me why you follow me/when you don’t know a thing about me/but you make me your Queen/share me like a royalty, the Magenta singer fuses her melodic and smooth vocals into a bold statement.
-“I’ve been listening to a lot of Dua Lipa because my goal is to grow how she did. This song is about social media. I’m making references to social media terms like ‘follow me’ ‘likes’ ‘trending’ etc. It is basically about making others happy by constantly posting on social media but feeling like you’re losing a part of yourself.“

In the music video, Shenna , amongst many others, are seen tirelessly scrolling through instagram, obsessing over likes and partying with friends just for a “look” on social media. The songs powerful message about holding on to a fake a reality, is brought to the forefront in the video.
Blue Memories is slated to drop later this year but you can catch Shenna live March 30th as a guest performer and speaker at the 2019 Above Pink Conference held at the Bronx River Community center.
