Roseanne Is A Hot Mess That Won’t Go Away

To the detriment of everyone, Roseanne has continued to make headlines in the last two months since she put out her blatantly racist tweet against Valerie Jarret.

In case you’re lucky enough to have forgotten all about this mess, below is what the comedian tweeted about Jarrett, who is an African American woman who formally worked as a senior advisor in the Obama administration.

“muslim brotherhood and planet of the apes had a baby = vj”

The tweet took place on May 29, 2018 and came after the release of a report about CIA operations under the Obama administration.

Since then she has bounced back and fourth between apologizing for the comments and doubling down on them.

The latest episode in the saga comes in the form of a bizarre interview she had last night with Fox News host Sean Hannity.

Although it seems the intention of the interview was most likely damage control, it has raised more questions than answers.

Below are just a few on the batshit insane things Roseanne said during her interview.

“Everybody started saying I was a racist, which is the worst thing you can call a Jewish person”– She went on to say especially in her case since she grew up with Holocaust survivors. So Jewish people cant be racist?

“Black People Chose Me”- She was explaining that when she ran for president in 2012 she ran as the representative for the black caucus of the Green Party. In less then a five-minute span, she has already attempted to play two ‘get out of racism free cards.’

I have African American Children in my Family” – Now a theme is emerging.

“I hate everyone equally” – This tired expression is now all to familiar. It has become the rallying cry of comedians caught saying bigoted things.

Overall, the majority of the interview was made up of Roseanne making every excuse under the sun other than saying she was sorry and going off on bizarre tangents that she seemed to think explained her comment’s but most certainly did not.

Hannity was desperately trying to help her, but even his unique style of soft-ball journalism couldn’t save Roseanne from herself. Hannity came across like her desperate PR person. He essentially let her talk and every so often asked her to explain the tweet and tried to coax her into actually apologizing. But to no avail. Hannity dragged her kicking and screaming into talking about what she would say to Jarret if she was on the phone, and said in his case he would want her to hear her say the words, I’m sorry. She eventually came up with, “I’m sorry that you thought my tweet was racist.” That is before she needlessly insulted Jarret again by saying that she needs to fix her hair.

Honestly enough is enough with this woman. She is not sorry, and is not being genuine when she says she wants to “start a conversation.” She can’t decide if her excuse is that she “thought the bitch was white” or that she was being political and not racial.
