Rihanna has already taken over our playlists, makeup bags and closets, but she’s not done yet. After a multi-million-dollar success with Fenty Beauty, the mogul is ready to take her crafts to the bedroom and design a lingerie line.
While the intimate details – no pun intended – are still undisclosed, WWD broke the news on Tuesday that Rihanna signed a deal with TechStyle Fashion Group to produce a line of lingerie. Neither TechStyle Fashion Group nor Rihanna have confirmed the deal, but sources from TechStyle reported that the two parties have been in talks for over a year.
TechStyle Fashion Group already owns JustFab, Fabletics, and ShoeDazzle, but adding Rihana-labeled lingerie will definitely drive up sales. The company has been doing well with celebrity collaborations from Kate Hudson and Demi Lovato, but these sales are slight in comparison to Riri’s economic power.
From partnerships with PUMA and Sephora, Rihanna has already proved she is more than a singer. Fenty by PUMA helped raise PUMA’s overall operating profit by $30 million in 2017 alone. Fenty Beauty helped skyrocket Sephora’s sales and is now on track to outsell Kylie Jenner’s $420 million cosmetic company.
A launch date has not been released yet, but according to TechStyle’s sources, samples have already been produced. I guess the only thing we can do is stack our coins and wait around for Rihanna to make a move.
