The visuals are inspired by the Motor City and has a car racing theme, with girls dancing while fixing cars and Kash Doll racing herself in two different cars. Commenting on the project, she said, “‘Ready Set‘ is a motivational and aspirational song. I wanted to let people know if I can make it, despite the things I’ve been through, they can do it too. I’m a D girl so I’m determined.“
The lyrics sing, “Ready set, better yet/ Got this bitch rockin’ like we never left/ Big time, big, big time/ All she want from is just a little time/ Flooded at the venue, ay/ I look better than what I’ve been through, yeah/ It’s a celebration, ay/ ‘Cause we made it out the basement, ay/ Stay hungry, stay patient, ay/ Then we made it out the basement, yeah.”
Kash Doll was just nominated for the BET award “Best Female Hip-hop Artist,” toured with Meek Mill, and made a song with Lil Wayne. She is now signed with Republic Records among big artists like Ariana Grande, Stevie Wonder, Post Malone, Nicki Minaj, and more. Before her rise to fame though, Kash Doll funded her own music career and owned two beauty bars at the age of 18. She now runs Kash Doll Enterprises and does charity work in Detroit.
One of Kash Doll’s biggest singles is “For Everybody,” which garnered over 30 million views on YouTube. With 311,000 subscribers, “Ready Set” already has 346,000 views.
