Ralph Lauren is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Friends by releasing a collection inspired by the show.
The new release is dedicated to the enviable style of the Rachel Green. Fans of the show will remember that Rachel got her big fashion break when she landed a job at Ralph Lauren.
A spokesman for the fashion house said that “The collection is a celebration of the brand’s role in the series. Just as Friends proved to be a perennial favorite series for viewers over the last 25 years, this collection reflects Ralph Lauren’s timeless styles and archetypes that have remained a go-to for the modern working woman.“
In honor of the shows famous titles, the collection is named “The One Where They Wore Ralph Lauren.” Womenswear only, the line includes Rachel inspired workwear such as turtle necks and plaid skirts.
Bloomingdales New York (where Rachel got her start in fashion) is set to display the collection. It will then be hosted by other locations around the U.S.
Ralph Lauren has also conducted photoshoots for the line at mock Friends locations. These include Central Perk, the purple apartment, and a snap at the fountain from the opening credits.
You can shop the collection here. But keep in mind that Ralph Lauren is a luxury brand. The line includes $89 sweaters and $300 blazers. This is a collection aimed at those in the job-at-Ralph-Lauren stage of life. Those of us more in the Central Perk income bracket will just have to admire it from afar.
