Zuri is an acclaimed acting scholar who has taught acting and directed stage plays in theaters. While she loved to be on the screen, the time she spent nurturing the careers of aspiring actors didn't provide her with enough time to venture into acting full-time.

Regardless, she managed to land minor roles in short movies and a guest cast on television shows. These roles helped her to get noticed by some of the leading industry professionals, and she eventually became a regular cast member of the TV show "Good Company." Her journey from an aspiring actress to being in the spotlight has been challenging. Let's look at it in detail.

Teaching Acting

After completing her studies, Zuri performed stage plays with the SITI Company of New York, the most memorable being "Lost in the Stars." Later, she got the opportunity to teach acting workshops at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy in South Africa.

While at the institution, she helped students develop their acting skills and guided them on the opportunities available abroad. She loved to nurture young talent, but her passion was always to play a lead role in a television series. This led her to switch from teaching acting and play directing to taking up a role in movies.

Features on Movies

Zuri Adele debuted on screen in the 2010 short drama movie, "Russian Roulette," where she played Michelle. She has also featured in the 2014 movie "The Social Worker" and the 2018 comedy film "CREAM & Butter."

The 2018 movie differed slightly from her previous role because the storyline touched on gang violence. She played Vawn in the film, which was emotionally demanding because she had to put herself in the shoes of a gangster fighting for territory.

Zuri has also played Lena in the 2019 movie Split Milk, which shares an impactful story of love and relationships. While the movies may have helped increase her popularity, they had short budgets than mainstream TV shows. This means that Adele had to work under limited costumes, sets, and resources, making it challenging to immerse herself fully in the storyline.
