Rapper and singer Doja Cat is nothing if not creative. Her willingness to take chances in her music, style, and social media activities is among some of the ways she marches to the beat of her own drum. And Doja's most loyal Kittenz eat it up every time.

Since breaking out with her first studio album, Amala, in 2018, Doja added three more albums to her resume. In 2025, she confirmed a new album was underway and would show yet another layer of her artistry. Here's when fans can expect the new album and other details Doja teased ahead of the project's release.

When is Doja Cat releasing her album, 'Vie'?

Doja didn't immediately disclose her fifth studio album's release date. However, she left several hints that she was working on something that would drop sometime in 2025. According to That Grape Juice, the "Paint The Town Red" artist confirmed the album's name in February 2025. After a fan asked about it on X (formerly Twitter), Doja confirmed she named the album Vie and teased it was "coming soon."

Doja also dropped several visuals leading up to Vie's debut. In March 2025, she changed her profile picture and header on X to multiple, stylish photos. The "Woman" singer also posted the photos on Instagram, deleting most of her older posts to confirm she was officially stepping into a new musical era.

"Tu es ma vie," Doja shared in one Instagram post, which translates to "You are my life."

Vie marked Doja's first album after the 2023 release of her fourth studio album, Scarlet, followed by Scarlet 2 Claude in 2024. The project included her hit single, "Paint the Town Red," which broke streaming records and found commercial success.

Doja Cat's album, 'Vie's' tracklist was leaked several times ahead of the album's debut.

The anticipation for Doja's album was so intense that muva had to feed us something to carry us over until the album's release. In November 2024, eagle-eyed fans also noticed that Doja shared out-of-order tracklisting for the project via a good ol' post and delete on her X and Instagram account. According to Billboard, the songs listed on the list included songs like “Break My Heart,” “Take Me Dancing,” “Anything,” “Ain’t News,” “Turn the Lights On,” “Slow Burn,” “Wood Holly” and “Appreciation."

Doja quickly deleted the posts on her social media accounts, leaving fans eager to see more when she was ready. The time finally came in April 2025 when the "Say So" artist released a new, 16-track list on social media. The new list included some of the songs from Doja's previous tracklist, including "Turn the Lights On." However, Doja confirmed one of the songs, "Crack" didn't make the cut and that she wasn't in the mood to explain why.

"Dont ask me where crack is rn," she warned her fans via X.

While "Crack" is indeed whack (for now), Doja's full roster, “Turn the Lights On,” “Slide,” “One More Time,” “Make It Up,” “Lipstain,” “Kink,” “Jealous Type,” “I Like You,” “Happy,” “Gorgeous,” “Couples Therapy,” “Come Back,” “Cards,” “Amen,” “All Mine” and “Acts of Service.," is predicted to be a vibe. In a recorded video of her playing "Jealous Type," Doja reportedly channeled her inner Janet Jackson with the "pop funk jam."

The Grammy winner also previewed the slow-burn jams “Acts of Service” and “Lipstain" in March 2025.

Good for Doja for always keeping us on her toes. We love to see an evolved baddie!
