How Tabitha Brown Found Financial Freedom and Her Authentic Self

Tabitha Brown has made her mark on the industry with her positivity, ambitious spirit, and her transparency about the financial struggles she has experienced.

Today, she is showing others how to overcome her financial strain by utilizing strategies to achieve debt-free living.

So, how did Tabitha do it? Keep reading to find out.

Tabitha moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting but was hiding her accent and trying to conform. This was her biggest mistake.

“I had to live it the way God intended me to live it. How he created me to live it. And so I started, really, every day looking at myself, and I was like, ‘What have I created? Who is this Tabitha I created?’’ she shared on Kevin Hart’s podcast, Gold Minds. “And I did everything that I saw or was told to conform to or fit into that box. And that was not who God created. That was who I created.”

It was only after she began her TikTok account in 2020, and introduced her followers to the real Tabitha did she begin experiencing success.

Tabitha has used her transition to veganism to build a platform through social media where she shared vegan recipes that healed her mental state as well as her body.

Today, she has over 5 million followers on TikTok and has launched several businesses including her hair care line Donna’s Hair and a food line with Target.

“For me having it all is being free," she explained to XONecole. "Like freedom, being completely who I am. No code-switching, no conforming, no shrinking myself to make anybody else feel big or comfortable. Being completely free. Not covering my accent anymore...Trying to constantly be a size two or four, wear my hair one way."

She has shared some tips with her followers on how to achieve financial success and it includes having a strict budget and doing some manifesting, which she did by writing down her goals in a notebook.

I had stretched that money out for two years, but I really didn’t have nothing to show for it,” Tabitha shared at the Honeyland Festival in 2023. “I had a car that I really couldn’t afford, but everything else, it was like, ‘Dang the money is gone.’ So I said, ‘Lord, if you ever bless me with money again in an abundance amount, I’m going to do right by it.’ And what I meant was, I’m gonna pay everything that I know that I need to pay first before I try to just spend it on me.”

She continued, “So, that putting something on it really taught me about how to save because you had to learn… that if I put this amount on it, it ain’t gonna cut it off. But if I put just this amount, it’s not gonna stay on, but that also taught me ‘Okay, so there’s a certain amount that you can do and still be all right.'”

Tabitha Brown has become so much more through social media than she ever imagined. Creating opportunities for herself she is a walking example of not giving up, pursuing your dreams, and most of all doing God’s vision for her life. She will always be looked at as the mother and Auntie of social media. The generations are being inspired by her resilience and positivity.
