The self-proclaimed queen of rap now has more than 133 hits ranked on the Billboard Hot 100! In 2023 alone, she had “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” peak at No. 1 on the Rap song chart in March. “Last Time I Saw You” also peaked at No. 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. And who can forget her song with Ice Spice, “Barbie World,” which also hit No. 1 on the charts?
Not a bad year at all for the rapper, who depended mainly on singles with more than five years of no album release until “Pink Friday 2” popped up in December. I thought about rolling back Barbie’s years and seeing some of her chart-topping hits. And here they are:
Nicki's Top 7 Billboard Chart-Topping Hits
1. “TrollZ” (2020) — Peak Position: 1 Nicki Minaj made rapper 6ix9ine jump on this song, and it was an instant hit. With “TrollZ”, Nicki Minaj, for the first time in 2020, became one of the rappers to reach first on the Billboard Hot 100 more than once. Remember, her feature song with Doja Cat also hit the top spot in 2020. But this one is Nicki’s first work on Billboard’s mountain top.
2. Super Freaky Girl (2022) — Peak Position: 1 One of Nicki Minaj’s latest hits, “Super Freaky Girl,” exploded onto the Billboard Hot 100, snatching the No. 1 spot in 2022. This marks Minaj’s debut as a solo artist at the summit and her third overall achievement, following “Trollz” and her notable feature on Doja Cat’s “Say So,” both in the wild year of 2020.
3. Anaconda (2014) — Peak position: 2 The rapper pulled out all the stops to raise the temperature with “Anaconda.” And it's really hot! The rap song reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. To date, netizens have watched the super hot video 1.1 billion times! 4. “Super Bass” (2011) — Peak position: 3
The rapper took a pop turn with her album “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” in 2011. And it was a huge one! “Super Bass” is one of the best-selling singles of her entire career with over 1 billion views on YouTube. It ranked third on the Billboard Hot 100 upon its release in 2011, and Billboard calls it the biggest release by the star in a decade.
5. “Bang Bang” (2014) with Jessie J and Ariana Grande — Peak position: 3 Always more girl power for Nicki Minaj. She joined forces with Jessie J and Ariana Grande in 2014 for the title that broke everything, “Bang Bang”! The three artists climbed to third place on the Billboard Hot 100 thanks to this single, which sold over 3.5 million copies in the United States alone.
6. “Turn Me On” (2011) with David Guetta — Peak position: 4 After “Hey Mama,” David Guetta and Nicki Minaj reunited again on the mega-hit “Turn Me On” at the end of 2011. It reached fourth on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. The single remained at the top of the charts for many weeks, allowing David Guetta to consolidate his popularity across the Atlantic.
7. “Starships” (2012) — Peak position: 5 “Starships” is perhaps one of the most popular tracks on the “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” album. The Trinidadian-American didn’t rap here, but she moved the whole of America with an unstoppable sound and a video hotter than ever where she appears in a pink bikini on a paradise island.
