The movies leaving Hulu this month
November can be a stressful month, marking the beginning of the hectic holiday season. Whether you're planning to host an elaborate Thanksgiving feast or braving the crowds to travel to see loved ones for the holidays, you're likely dealing with some end-of-year stress. At times like these, you may find yourself turning to some creature comforts—your favorite food, a beloved book, or a movie you've seen dozens of times. But just be prepared that when you turn on your go-to streaming service, like Hulu, a few options may have disappeared.
There are many reasons why a movie might be removed from Hulu—the rights may no longer be available, or its popularity may not justify the cost of licensing it, for example. Whatever the reason may be, the popular streaming platform is cutting 13 movies from its catalog in November.
Unfortunately, it's not even Thanksgiving, and already a holiday film is getting the boot from Hulu. The 2022 live-action/animated hybrid "The Good Witch of Christmas" follows a reformed convict (Tom Arnold) tasked with babysitting his niece and nephew with his roommate (William Baldwin), while the kids' parents do some last-minute Christmas shopping. The movie, a sequel to "Christmas Thieves," is set to depart the streamer on Nov. 30.
Meanwhile, fans of Jenna Ortega, of "Wednesday" fame, have less than a month to catch one of her films before it leaves Hulu on Nov. 11. The movie getting the axe is the 2022 comedy horror "American Carnage," which stars Ortega as a teenager who gets arrested under a new government order targeting children of undocumented immigrants.
Nervous about what other movies will be disappearing from Hulu before December rolls around? Stacker compiled a list of the movies leaving Hulu in November using data from Reelgood. IMDb ratings and other data points were added for supplementary insights.
