La La Anthony's Fashion Ventures: Beyond Entertainment

La La Anthony, an American actress and TV personality, had started as an entertainer and MTV VJ before venturing into full-time acting. She also worked as a host of VH1 reality shows Flavour for Love, and For the Love of Ray J. Anthony featured in dozens of movies including You Got Served, Think Like a Man 2, and You People.
While her early life was all about TV hosting and entertainment, she has since evolved into a fashion icon, creating her unique style and making a huge impact in the fashion industry.
“5th and Mercer” Clothing Line
La La Anthony’s venture into the fashion world was significantly noticed when she created her clothing line “5th and Mercer”. He formed the clothing group with her stylist, Jason Bolden. The duo focused on designing and launching contemporary clothing, especially for women.
The motive for the launch of 5th and Mercer is to create versatile fashion pieces that match diverse occasions. In most cases, the clothing line blends sophistication and modern trends with streetwise culture. According to La La, the name “encapsulates everything we love about New York — the chic toughness of downtown and the refinement of uptown."
Fashion Collaboration Ventures
One aspect of fashion where La La Anthony has collaborated with brands is in the making of trending footwear. In 2023, she announced her collaboration with the popular fashion brand “Mea Culpa” to design and sell beanies for a good cause. A percentage of the sales will benefit LaLa’s charity “THREESIXTY,” an initiative at Rikers Island, providing mentorship and life coaching, legal services, and re-entry tools, to young men ages 18–21 years old who are incarcerated.
La La is also a brand ambassador for PrettyLittleThing, where she launched a tropical, resort-themed clothing collection for the brand.
“I am so excited to be back with PrettyLittleThing and designing my own collection,” she told Vibe. “We have put together so many fun pieces for everyone to enjoy this summer that can transition seasonally. I’m looking forward to seeing PLT customers rocking the new collection.”
La La Anthony Is Also A Budding Beauty Entrepreneur
Alongside her fashion ventures, La La also has a beauty line called Inala, which launched its Power Potion scalp and hair treatment in 2022. The line started after La La began experimenting with rice water to strengthen her hair during the pandemic.
“How can I make this into a product that everyone could use? And that’s how Inala was born,” she shared on The Jennifer Hudson Show. “It’s 100% rice water complex, and it’s growing edges back, hair back.”
She continued, “I’m just so happy that so many people are experiencing the benefits, getting their hair strong, getting their hair back… When you look good, you feel good. So, if I can give a little bit of that to everyone, that makes me very happy.”
