Jackie Aina has proven herself as one of the most successful beauty entrepreneurs in the United States. She has a long history of collaborating with famous makeup and beauty brands, as well as creating some of her own.
One of her many businesses is a candle line called FORVR (pronounced Forever) Mood. Jackie and her partner Denis said on FORVR Mood’s website that they “...created FORVR Mood to boost moods, encourage self-care, and make every day a little lavish. The website copy later goes on to say that “self-care isn’t selfish.”
Through her time as a beauty influencer and newly minted entrepreneur, Aina is plugged into the female psyche. She certainly understands what women, especially BIPOC women, want in their self-care products. Here’s how Jackie Aina went from a beauty influencer to a powerful black female entrepreneur.
Jackie Aina’s Early Journey to Successful Beauty Influencer
Jackie Aina was born in California 1987. After two years as a college student, Jackie decided to enlist in the military. Aina was stationed in Hawaii for one year before she was hired at MAC Cosmetics. While Jackie loved her job, she was constantly told that the makeup trends that she wanted to try weren’t right for her skin.
Getting frustrated with the lack of makeup lines that exclude women of color, Jackie Aina decided to branch out into the beauty industry by making makeup tutorials targeted towards Black and brown people. While Jackie got very popular on YouTube, she wanted to create makeup lines herself as well as collaborate with prominent makeup brands for BIPOC people.
The frustration with makeup brands not targeting BIPOC people got her going toe to toe with some of the biggest names in the beauty industry. One famous scuffle involving Jamie Kern Lima had Jackie calling out Kern Lima and others for creating unrealistic images that most BIPOC people can’t emulate.
How Jackie Aina Became A Major Player in the Beauty Industry
Jackie Aina decided to channel her frustration into collaborations with major makeup brands such as e.l.f Cosmetics and Sigma Beauty. Not to be outdone, Jackie created an eyeshadow palette with Anastasia Beverly Hills.
She even started to partner with Artist Couture to launch two rose gold highlighters called La Peach and La Bronze.
What Is Jackie Aina Working On Now?
Jackie Aina has become one of the foremost beauty influencers and wellness entrepreneurs in the game right now. From the FORVR candle line to all of her great collaborations with makeup brands, Aina’s mission is to make all BIPOC people feel beautiful with makeup that is made just for them.
What’s Next For Jackie Aina’s Entrepreneur Journey?
There will definitely be more high-profile collaborations with makeup brands. But Jackie, as always, will be busy with all types of projects, whether it is working on FORVR Mood or looking for BIPOC makeup brands to highlight on her YouTube channel. But one thing Jackie Aina will always do is advocate for her fans to get more beauty lines to become a lot more inclusive.
