Black Girl Luxury: Jackie Aina’s Chic Neutral-Tone Home

Ever heard that you need to find something you are passionate about and consistently and persistently pursue work on improving your craft, and success will find you?

Well, Jackie Aina is the embodiment of that philosophy. The YouTuber has been publishing content about beauty, makeup, fragrances, and much more since 2009, and through the years, she has amassed millions of followers on her socials and accrued immense success.

And her house tells us, yes, she made it.

Her mansion is fit for the queen she is. With everything you’d need to live in luxury and utmost comfort. With a neutral-tone theme, the décor, furniture, and appliances in her home are designed to infuse a soothing aura.

Speaking with Tayo Aina, Jackie explains the thought process behind her choice for a neutral tone décor.

“Personally because I have such a big, bold color for personality and I like to dress big and bold, I want to be the color of my home,” she said. “I don’t want my home to be the color. I want you to see me. I want to be the star of the show.”

She adds, “I want the house to be calming and I want the house to blend in. I don’t want it to attract too much attention. I want to feel calm, you know.”

Let’s take a tour of Jackie’s stunning home.

Her kitchen consists of a beautifully appointed space designed for a cooking buff. The double-island kitchen offers her plenty of space to explore her culinary skills. However, she is not an avid cook, stating, “When my fiancé and I bought this house, I really wanted a double island kitchen, and the irony is that I don’t cook at all.”

She goes on to explain that because she’s “Black, African, and a woman, she’s expected to cook,” and she doesn’t like following the crowd and doing what’s expected. “Why can’t I be good at other things?” she poses. “Like, that doesn’t make me a woman if I don’t cook in the kitchen.”

At the back entrance to her house is the breakfast nook. The quint and cozy space offers Jackie and her fiancé an intimate space to share meals.

In many ways, the family room is the focal point of the house. The white L-shaped couch is the dominant feature in this space. It’s not only cozy, but it also binds the entire space into a harmonious and welcoming space. Describing the couch, Jackie is thrilled to note that you can melt into it.

Being an entrepreneur, Jackie has created a space where she can conduct her business within the house. Her home office affords her a serene space to concentrate on the task at hand. It's also the space where she keeps many of her awards and plaques, including her YouTube play buttons and her Shopify plaques.

Importantly, the office space remains true to the overall décor of the house. It has an understated luxury carried by the overall neutral tone.
