The fashion world has been Ice Spice's oyster since she burst onto the hip-hop scene with her mega-hit, "Munch," in August 2022. The single announced the Bronx-born rapper to the world, catapulting her to mega-stardom seemingly overnight. Her profile grew even bigger with the turn of every day.

She started hanging out with other stars as they embraced her into their world. Her face was plastered in major publications. By the time she released her surprise EP, "Like," her growing fan base couldn't get enough of the spice she drizzled in her tracks.

Neither could her fans get enough of her style.

If her hit single introduced Ice Spice to her musical talents, then the "Munch" video introduced us to her unique sense of style and fashion. Drawing inspiration from years past and incorporating statement items from late 90's pieces, she typically weaves together an ensemble that's unique and inimitable.

We're convinced she can pull off any look and/or trend she sets her eyes on without making it feel forced. Whether she donning a figure-hugging Y2K-esque look, Barbiecore, or mermaidcor, she's always stunning, as her debut on Fashion Week festivities proved.

Burnt Orange' Fro and Matching Eyeshadow

Her approach to fashion is well-established by now. You can expect Spice to experiment with many rocking different looks. What's also established is her hair styling and makeup.

By now, her orange crown, particularly when she rocks a 'fro, is not iconic. Her hair, which bobs and weaves between shades of the orange hue, is the focal point in her overall style. In a sense, it has become her calling card.

Sitting pretty at the front row of the Coach Show, the New York native took on the challenge of pulling the preppy trend. She wore a green corduroy mini dress, evoking a high school cheerleader look. Her afro was colored in a deep orange hue for a radiant look.

She came ready for work at the Tommy Hilfiger New York Fashion Week dinner. With a thigh-high slit skirt, an oversized blazer, and a yellow tub top showed us her fan side. Her trusty ginger 'fro accentuated the look, oozing some fiery sex appeal.

All the while, she chose the subtle and classy route on the makeup front. While her makeup matched her hair, it did not overwhelm her look or distract us from her dressing or the 'fro.

We've talked about embracing a broader scope of beauty standards for the longest time now. For Black and brown people, the issue of embracing the texture of their hair has been all the rage. There is a broader acceptance of sporting natural hair texture in the Black community.

That said, you'll be hard-pressed to find celebrities sporting a full-on 'fro. At least you won't see anyone rocking it as well and as confidently as Ice Spice does. The ginger crown is not only her signature look but also her standout statement that textured hair is as stylish as any other. Moreover, her orange 'fro makes her style inimitable.

She recognizes her impact on Black culture, telling the New York Times, "When I was in high school, I was straightening my hair, trying to be something that I'm not. Now it's flattering seeing a wave of Afros. I enjoy that. I feel like that's great for Black women especially, making Afros more like just a normal staple look, you know?"

And if her signature ginger crown, which was on full display at the New York Fashion Week, encourages an embrace of natural hair and texture in the black community, we are for it. Keep rocking the 'fro!
