At the end of the U.S. Open week, one name was on people’s minds: Coco Gauff. She has made a name for herself as one of the rising stars in the under-19 tennis ball categories. Aside from being a tennis star, her fashion style off the court has people talking.
Shopping in New York
In an interview on U.S. Open, she admitted that she loves shopping in The Big Apple. “I really do love fashion. I love makeup. I love that type of thing.” Her love for fashion has made her brand build quite a following. Her recent red carpet appearances have had quite the buzz since she always looks classy, and it’s amazing to see how she merges her courtyard style with her red carpet looks. It has helped to ensure that she seamlessly promotes the brands she works with. In her interview with Australian Open TV in 2022, Coco said based on her dress choice, “I think the dress was probably one of my favorites…” Even though she rarely wore dresses, her embracing them on the court is a sign that she is evolving in her style.
New Balance Deal
In November 2022, Coco Gauff signed a deal with New Balance and released their signature shoe collection, Coco CG1. In an interview with Vogue during the launch, Coco said, “my favorite is my brother’s name on the laces.” She goes ahead to talk about the other features she loves and why the shoeline is dear to her. New Balance has brought in a lot of monetary value to Coco. However, there is no clarity on how much she made from the deal. Estimates put it at about one million dollars every year.
Featured Fashion Brands
In 2022, Coco was featured in the American Eagle’s Spring Members Always campaign before collaborating with New Balance. The feature meant that she grew her brand and got more people to notice her unique style. Her looks in her collaborations and how she manages to add her New Balance fit make her versatile.
Bratz Doll Illustration
The Bratz doll’s new illustration showed the doll dressed up in a way that is similar to Coco featuring her signature braids and unique style. The illustration was approved by the company that makes the dolls. Coco took to her Instagram story and shared a side-by-side comparison of her in a similar outfit with the caption “OMGGG CRYING.” Should the doll be manufactured, it will go to lengths to show how famous she has become.
Coco’s Influence on and off the Court
One quite unique thing about Coco is how much influence she has on her peers. She became the youngest American to compete in the U.S. Open finals after Serena Williams did so in 1999. Launching the New Balance shoe line also helped show people just how much influence she has.
As she delves into exploring her style, it is clear that she has a unique perception of fashion that shows in what she wears. Her favorite high-profile brands are Miu Miu and Fendi. Despite this, she has still found a way to incorporate different styles into her look. With the Bratz doll conversation coming out, it is clear that Coco will soon be a force to behold on the court and the red carpet.
