Sneak Peek: China Anne McClain's Upcoming TV Endeavors

China Anne McClain’s star is certainly on the rise in Hollywood.

Since her professional acting debut at the age of 7, China Anne has been busy. She not only acts in television shows and movies, China Anne also sings both as a solo artist and as a trio act with her sisters.

Her latest project is Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, where she portrays Jazmine Payne — but that’s not all China Anne Mcclain is working on.

China Anne McClain was born in 1998 to a music producer father and a screenwriter mother. China Anne also has two older sisters and a brother.

Her first introduction to the public eye was a girl group with her two sisters called “McClain Sisters.” China Anne continued to sing as her acting career started to blow up, but even as she started to act in Tyler Perry’s House of Payne and Disney’s A.N.T. Farm, China Anne continued to sing with her sisters.

The group even got a record deal.

Even though China Anne McClain achieved a lot of fame as a child actress doesn’t mean that she is going off into the sunset. China Anne always has a few pans burning on the stove at a time. This year is no different. While Ms. McClain has not appeared on any red carpets in quite a while, she’s definitely working on a few things.

Among the projects that China Anne McClain is working on is Descendants: Rise of Red. China Anne has starred as Uma since Descendants 2 and has made the role her own.

“Joining the cast of Descendants was surreal for me. It was an honor because everyone loved the first film and I was a fan of the first film,” she told ButFirstJoy. “I thought it was beautifully put together. And Kenny Ortega is just great. I really wanted to work on it so when I got the call saying I got the role, I said, ‘Yes!’”

She continued, “It's cool to play a villain. This is my very first time playing one, I think. We all have those feelings inside that we just want to unleash on people sometimes, and that’s the definition of Uma’s character. She has always bottled up feelings that she randomly unleashes on people and is not sorry for it at all.”

We can also expect to see China Anne return for Season 13 of House of Payne, if and when, it’s renewed.

Along with acting, China Anne is also working on new music. She makes music with her sister group, now called “Thrii”, as well as her own solo work. China Anne has always loved music, so her acting will never get in the way of her solo career and her work with “Thrii.”
