China Anne McClain’s reputation is rising in film and television. Busy with projects since she was a child, China Anne seems to be taking a bit of a break from showbiz. At the moment, the celebrity is currently focusing on her solo singing career, making music with her sisters in their singing group Thrii. Even China Anne’s Instagram, on which she usually posts prodigiously, has been more than a bit quiet.

What is apparent from China Anne’s break is that she is always working on something, even if it is out of the public eye. One project that is close to China Anne’s heart is the entertainment company that her family is starting.

China Anne McClain’s Youth

China Anne McClain has been ready for the spotlight as soon as she got out of the womb. Her family moved to Los Angeles so that China Anne and her siblings could achieve their childhood dreams. China Anne McClain’s first opportunity in the spotlight came in the form of becoming one-third of her sister girl group.

The former Disney celebrity got her big break at the age of 7. Since then she co-starred in Tyler Perry’s House of Payne for over a decade. She also had prominent roles such as starring opposite Idris Elba in The Gospel and Daddy’s Little Girls. Fun fact: China Anne played Idris’ daughter alongside her two sisters Lauryn and Sierra.

Then Disney came knocking on China Anne’s door. Since then, China Anne has co-starred in A.N.T. Farm and the movie series The Descendants, where she played the daughter of Ursula in the second and third chapters of the movies.

She also sang several songs on various soundtracks, either as a solo performance or as part of the movie and television cast.

Tragedy Strikes Close to Home

The death of Disney star Cameron Boyle hit hard for a lot of fans of the charismatic actor. She told Teen Vogue that she and Cameron were best friends. At the time of the interview, Cameron’s death was still a deep wound as the death happened recently (at the time). China Anne said that one of the main sayings that Cameron would always tell her is to “let go.” To this day, China Anne will try to carry that attitude as she navigates Hollywood.

“I was so tied up in working, working, working, and getting ahead. And I was so tied up in that because I really do love acting. I don't like this industry, but I love creating things, creating art,” she told the magazine. “I just think [Cameron’s death] made me step back, and now I don't live for those things anymore. I don't live for, ‘Let me make sure I accomplish this and let me work, work, work, work.’ Now, I just focus on the things around me and focus on this moment and put it on God and my family and whatever happens with the industry happens. I'm just going to keep creating things.”

China Anne McClain learned other lessons while she was a young actress. The accomplished actress and singer added that Cameron was “her best friend.” They both starred together in the movies Grown Ups and The Descendants 2.

China Anne’s Latest Disney Project — ’Descendants: The Rise of Red’

Currently, China Anne is set to return to the Descendants universe in Descendants: The Rise of Red — currently in pre-production. According to IMDB, the film will follow “Red, daughter of the Queen of Hearts, and Chloe, daughter of Cinderella, as they team up to save Auradon by traveling in back in time using the White Rabbit's pocket watch, to stop an event that would cause grave consequences.”

China will star alongside Brandy and Rita Ora in the movie, and we are sure she will hold her own alongside the two musical superstars.

As for the entertainment company China Anne is starting with her family, she added, “I have a lot of stories that I want to tell that I think are going to help a lot of these kids that are constantly tweeting me and leaving comments on my Tik Toks and Instagram posts about where they're at in life and how they've hit an all-time low… It was just time to go and time to focus on my babies that I'm developing with my production company and my family.”
