China Anne McClain: 2023's Fashion Forward

China Anne McClain was born in August of 1998. Both of her parents were involved in showbiz. Her father’s claim to fame was producing a track on one of Solange Knowles’ albums.

China’s mother worked as a screenwriter and songwriter. Her two older sisters also sing and act. China also has a brother named Gabriel.

China Anne McClain first started her professional acting career at the age of 7. That’s when she starred in The Gospel. Her first television role was as Jazmine Payne on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. Then McClain became known for her work on the Disney Channel, including A.N.T Farm and the Descendants movies. She also starred in the short-lived CW series Black Lightning.

In addition to acting, China Anne is also an accomplished singer. When she was 7, she was part of a family group with her sisters called “3mcclaingirls.” China Anne performed a song with superstar Nick Jonas on the album “Jonas LA.” Then the “3mcclaingirls” signed to Hollywood Records as “The McClain Sisters.”

One of their singles shot up to No. 2 on Billboard’s Kid Digital Songs. After a few more chart toppers, Billboard named China Anne McClain one of the top 10 highest-selling kids’ artists in 2012.

China Anne is one of many female stars who experiment with their style — and she is not afraid of making style mistakes. She always makes bold choices, whether fashion insiders approve or not.

She switches up her look from time to time. In one photo, China Anne is wearing a long, figure-conscious golden gown while looking out at Paris’ River Seine. In another photo on her Instagram account, she is having fun in a short, floral mini-dress with platform heels.

One interesting look on China Anne’s Instagram account involves what she calls a bubblegum “princess dress.” Completing the look is a big pink girly bow nestled in her braids, China Anne called this new look “...my new favorite.”

In one of the post comments, one commenter and fan called it a “queen dress.” That comment is solid as China Anne is one of the Hollywood queens of individuality. One thing you can never accuse China Anne of is having a boring and pedestrian style.
