“Blame It On Your Love” is Charli XCX’s latest song with Lizzo on feature. The official audio was released just yesterday and it’s going to be a new summer anthem.
Charli XCX has been posting pictures of the duo on Instagram, teasing fans worldwide of a collaboration between two of pop’s most beloved. The first one of the series being a polaroid pic of the two, Charli captioned “IMAGINE IF I MADE A SONG WITH @LIZZOBEEATING AKA THE QUEEN OF EVERYTHING – WOULD U DIE??? I WOULD DIEEEEEEEE!!! PREP MY GRAVE ASAP WE GOT A BOP COMING THIS WEEK.” Oh, and by the way, their couple name is “Chizzo”, apparently.
The song has a clipped, handclap-driven beat produced by pop heavyweight Stargate and PC Music experimentalist A.G. Cook. The chorus is remixed from Charli XCX’s song “Track 10” from two years ago. With “Truth Hurts” just on Billboard Hot 100, Lizzo’s verse in Blame It On Your Love is disappointingly brief, but still gives us life every time. Looks like our girl really be “trying to catch millions, not trying to catch feelings.” Honestly, we’re just glad she’s “bout to save pop music.” YAS PLEAASEE!!!
