Back in 2018, the brilliantly talented rapper Kierra Luv shocked the world with her unique and impressive freestyles, which garnered much deserved attention across platforms. Her freestyle to Cardi B’s “Money” even made its way to Cardi’s personal IG page. Now at just 18 years old, she is making waves in the music industry with six successful singles released and a full, debut project set to come out this spring.

In an interview with Bombshell, Kierra Luv opened up about her love of storytelling. Before she made it big across Twitter and Instagram, the young artist found solace in writing poetry and rapping. In her recently released single “Good Day” feat. Ray Moon, she did just that. “Basically what I did was explain just what I’m going through all the time,” she explained. “That’s what I mostly always try to explain. Because I don’t like never talking about nothing so anytime you hear something new, it’s really just like more detail of what I’m going through to be honest.”

Wise beyond her years, Kierra Luv plans to introduce what she’s all about in her upcoming spring release Take it or Leave It. “Because it’s my first piece of work, basically it’s like planting the seeds,” she said. “When you plant seeds things grow. So it’s just me showing how I grow and it’s really not theme-based, so there’s a bunch of different versatilities inside of it.”

Kierra Luv signed with 10K Projects/Electric Feel Entertainment after numerous viral moments and has since released six singles. One of her prior released singles, “Can’t Stand It” featuring Tory Lanez, has already garnered well over 1 million streams on Spotify. She revealed that she never planned for Lanez to feature on the track nor for the song to be as successful as it is. “Behind the scenes, a lot of people say, ‘oh this is gonna be a hit’ but like you never really know where it’s gonna go,” Kierra explained.

Her first four singles were “Put You On,” “Ride My Wave,” “Automatic,” and “Don’t I,” all of which have their own unique sound showcasing her storytelling abilities. For her, writing poetry, rapping, and telling her story really helps her process her emotions which is important for anyone’s piece of mind. “Even outside of music, when you’re writing and doing poetry and stuff, you’re like telling a story in a different way,” Kierra explained. “People tell their own stories in different ways, even through like sports, etcetera.”

With her career, Kierra Luv hopes to inspire and help others. “Especially with my platform, I just wanna make sure that whatever needs attention brought to, I can bring attention to,” she explained.

In the near future, Kierra plans to do more shows and get ready to hopefully tour her new album. “Before a tour, it’s definitely gonna be small venues first because I’ve never really been on stage, so I don’t want to just wing it, you know?” she explained.

Despite her young age, Kierra Luv is sure to shake up the industry with fierce, raw talent. “As a female artist, everybody kind of doubts what you can do,” she explained. “I feel like it’s just [because] people don’t really know what to expect. That can be a good and a bad thing. I look at it as a good thing.”

“Good Day” is available for streaming and purchase on all platforms. And make sure to keep an eye out for Kierra Luv’s debut project Take it or Leave It, which is set to release this spring.
