We can all have our on own opinions on Jordyn regarding her Red Table Talk with Jada. Some people believed her, and went to her defense. Others are convinced she is lying. We’re not here to talk about any of that. We need to talk about what strangers, the media, and the internet are making her family go through.

There was a moment during the Red Table Talk when Jordyn stated:

“Every time you refresh the page, it’s another person bullying me, or wishing death upon me, or telling me something like, ‘your father deserved to die.’ If I was a weak person, I would have hurt myself. It’s even hard for me to say this because […] we can’t leave the house. My brother can’t go to work, my sister can’t go to school, she’s 12 years old. My mom can’t even go to the grocery store.”

Did anybody else break down in this moment? Can you imagine doing something wrong, and having strangers take it upon themselves to make your loved ones pay for it?

Even when Jordyn talks about Khloe and what she’s going through, she says, “She doesn’t deserve this either. People have even dehumanized her in this situation to the point where they can’t feel for her.

That’s a huge problem we need to address. Regardless of what we believe or don’t believe, we all know how cruel and terrifying the internet can be. We tend to separate the internet from real life, but the internet is real life. Yes, people can hide behind anonymity, but those people with negative thoughts and hurtful messages actually exist. When voiced opinions make an impact in the real world, and harm peoples’ regular way of life, the internet is real life. If we can agree to stop dehumanizing other people just because they are behind a screen, whatever it may be, the world can become a lot more compassionate.
