Back in September, Hypebae interviewed 7-year old fashionista, Coco Pink Princess. Back in February, Coco Pink Princess picked her own accessories for an Elle shoot.
So who is this pint-sized fashionista?
According to Elle, her origin story is summed up as so: “Child plays dress-up; adoring mom and dad snap pics; Mom posts the photos on Mom’s Instagram account.”
Her parents own a vintage shop, Funktique, in Tokyo‘s Harajuku district. Her mom, Misato, explained how Coco got into fashion:
-“We opened the store when she was two years old. She wasn’t in day care at the time, so she was always with us. Everyone is dressed very fashionably in Harajuku, from top to toe. She has been seeing this since she was a baby, so it was very natural that she’d be interested in fashion.”

Misato started Coco‘s Instagram account ( @coco-pinkprincess ) after being flooded by requests from fans of her fashion.
Her attitude regarding fashion is pretty hilarious and to be honest, it’s a mood.
Here are a few questions from her interview on Hypebae and our favorite answers:
When asked what fashion and style means to her, she responded,
“I think fashion is really fun.” This is truly how everything we do in our lives should be answered. I just think it’s fun.
When asked who her fashion icons are, she answered,
“I don’t have any fashion icons.” Well, damn!
When asked what she aspires to be when she grows up she said,
“I haven’t decided yet. I think when I’m older things will change a lot, so it is hard to decide already.” Smart answer, kid! Growing up is overrated.
This kid is going places.
