Last week Friday, Ginette Claudette released a new project titled “On To Something” via Summerchild Records/RED MUSIC. The project includes 9 tracks and it’s available on Amazon, iTunes, Soundcloud, and Spotify. Her most recent track “Love Me Back” (linked below) is included in the project, along with previously released songs; “Twisted” and “True.”
She remains true to her R&B influence with heartbreakingly expressively honest lyrics.
Her “Love Me Back” song starts:
-“Wish I could just pull the plug, it’d be faster
Know I’m not the only one that you’re after
all my friends they’re probably looking with laughter”
“Wish I could just pull the plug, it’d be faster
Know I’m not the only one that you’re after
all my friends they’re probably looking with laughter”
And while it sounds like it’d be a slow, sad, love song, singersroom.com describes it perfectly as a “richly-textured, feel-good ballad.”
Her new album is reminiscent of 90’s R&B. One of her songs on the album, titled “Slow Up,” sounds just like a catchy 90’s summer jam. She sings “is it just for show, or are you down for me?” Her lyrics don’t miss a beat when it comes to what her heart is feeling and we feel it too.
DJIceberg.com posts her sentiments on this new project where she says:
-“On most of the records, I’m having a conversation with myself. Creating this project has been a very therapeutic journey of self-discovery for me as a woman and an artist. On this new project, I start to peel back many layers on a lot of the things I have been self-conscious about for so long and, until now, have held inside. For the first time I am able to unapologetically say what I want, while disregarding the outside pressures that I have faced for so long. I am excited to share it with the world.”

“On To Something” comes 3 years after her EP “All The Way Back.”
