Everyone has heard the old saying, “Distance makes the heart grow fonder,” but how many people actually reap the benefits of long distance relationships? In the summer time, any serious relationship can be considered a risk. When the weather breaks, it seems like hearts get broken as well. For most young adults cuffing season is over, and Bae has to go back home across the country when the semester is done.
One must be mentally and emotionally mature to engage in a successful long distance relationship. It isn’t impractical to be with someone despite the space that may be between the two of you. If it is meant to be, it will work out for the best outcome. However, the road to a happy love life is long and requires much effort on both ends. Don’t go into a long distance situation with a pessimistic attitude, but it doesn’t hurt to be aware of the risks before you get your feelings involved with a distant lover.
