New Jersey artist Coi Leray has dropped her long anticipated EP Now Or Never via Republic Records. The EP dropped midnight on Friday and consists of six tracks. Gunna, Kianna Ledé, Sevyn Streeter and Fetty Wap all have features.
The tracks are…
- “Slide” ft Gunna
- “I Like It” ft Kiana Ledé and Sevyn Streeter
- “Do Better”
- “Fuq Boa”
- “Better Days” ft Fetty Wap
- “Messy”
There is a range of styles in the six tracks. Leray said of the project: “There’s twerking music, pain music, some R&B, and some trap… I just want to give them something that is to my full potential. I want to take them to a place that they’ve never been before. It’s now or never, and the time is now.”
Lead single “Slide” featuring Gunna is slow and mellow, which lets Leray’s delicate vocals to shine through. The song is an optimistic “we like each other” song. Whereas “Messy” is a song about the end of a relationship, which the tone and sound reflects.
“Do Better” is a promise to keep improving and impressing fans. It’s upbeat and fun. The vocals are faster and sit between singing and rapping. She released a new video for the song on August 13, just in time for the EP drop.
The New Jersey-based artist has been drumming up buzz on both social media and streaming platforms in the lead up to the drop.
Just 48 hours after releasing the EP, Leray revealed on Instagram that it already had over 4 million all-time streams and was in the top 200 on Apple Music. The video for “Do Better” has over one hundred thousand views on YouTube.
Now or Never is available to stream on Apple Music, Spotify, Youtube Music, Amazon Music, Audiomack, iTunes, Deezer, Google Play, and Tidal.
