If you’re not familiar with Christine H. McConnell, KEEP READING.
Last month, Christine debuted her Netflix original series based off her baked goods. What makes them so special? You’re about to find out! She is a creative GENIUS. Her designs are beautifully intricate and complicated. They are a macabre victorian dream. Just in time for spooky season!
Netflix’s introduction for the show reads:

In her haunted home, Christine McConnell turns ordinary ingredients into creepy cakes and confections that are almost too terrifying to eat.”

I want to live in it.
Christine rose to prominence on Instagram where she showcased her creations. She now has over 300,000 followers. She is an “artist, seamstress, photographer, baker, pin-up girl.” She is also author of the book, Deceptive Desserts: A Lady’s Guide To Baking Bad. Her creative dark twists can best be described as charming. She is beyond average or basic. Her work is as inspirational as it is artistic.
One of her major inspirations was none other than Tim Burton. In fact, her creations led to a collaboration with him for his 2016 film Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children.
-“A former hair/makeup stylist to the stars, McConnell was given carte blanche to create work – whether it was photos and costumes for a 12-month calendar, or her signature, 100% edible, elaborately creepy baked goods. In this case, it was a nightmarish ‘Wight cake’ and a spinning gingerbread version of the Peculiar house (it tells time) as imaginative promos for the movie.”

Aside from Instagram, she is also known for posting her creations on Reddit and participating in Q&A’s with the community. She is encouraging and her childlike charisma is endearing as she posts her creations with captions such as “I made a GingerBread Castle :D” and a picture like this:
Damn, Christine! My GingerBread houses look absolutely NOTHING like this. XD
I think you made a portal to a whole new dimension (and our hearts).
