Tuesday, sportswear brand Champion released the lookbook for their most recent Fall/Winter 2019 Reverse Weave collection.

The collection is made with patented titular cotton, which has soft, brushed lining and is comfortingly heavy weight. It resists damage and shrinkage by mechanical washing and drying – horizontal shrinkage is avoided by turning the fiber fleece upside down during manufacturing, and panels on the side of the sweatshirts prevent vertical shrinkage. Cuffs on the neck and bottom of the sweatshirt help to conserve the wearer’s body heat.
Predictably, the F/W 2019 collection features embroidered logos and logo tape in blue, red, and black on solid mustards and mauves. There are also glossy parkas and thermal two-pieces in camouflage and neutral tones.
However, the collection’s two-toned rose-and-white jersey top and striped track jacket begin to deviate from seasonal expectations.
Stretch cotton bike shorts with logo-taped waistband are also an unlikely addition to a colder collection – could this be an indication of more temperate climate to come?
With the Zone Trainers, Champion emulates a mid-90’s silhouette in premium leather, with a perforated ankle collar, large patch logo, and cursive heel logo. The lime, raspberry, blackberry, and cherry accents divert refreshingly from stale fall colors.
F/W 2019 differs from 2018 mainly in its lack of graphic prints. Last year’s collection made more interesting use of quilting and clean polygonal shapes. 2019 leaves the red, blue, and white logo tape entirely unchanged, with ambiguously cropped mustard and heather fabrics unrelentingly in rotation.
Champion’s Fall/Winter 2019 Reverse Weave collection is available online at championstore.com and at the SoHo retailer on Brewer Street.
