Brianna Perry first stepped onto the scene with “Marilyn Monroe” and she continues paying homage to female icons with her latest track “Anita Baker.”
It’s pretty clear at this point that that Brianna Perry is a girl’s girl. She recognizes other iconic women’s strengths and pays homage to them instead of resorting to dissing.
In “Anita Baker” the Miami native dons black pasties in the form of x’s, with a mesh body suit, and a black lace face mask as she dances on a balcony. She raps:
-“Call me Ms. Perry and Ms. Parker
Had the brains, but not money for Harvard
I don’t know a doctor
I don’t know nobody who went to an opera
I just learned how to cut, stay proper”

She spoke to rap-up and explained the message behind her track:
-“Sophistication is sexy. Confidence is sexy. I’m in your face with it, embracing my femininity and letting it be known that a Queen can deliver King bars. Anything that presents this feeling, describes the term Anita Baker.”

This confidence translates well into what she has brought up for herself. As her new video and song demonstrate a paradise that many people dream of, she connects those words with her own being therefore turning herself into the paradise we praise.
