Brandy Releases New Single ‘Baby Mama’

Multi-platinum and Grammy award-winning singer songwriter Brandy dropped a new single “Baby Mamma” on May 1. The song premiered via iHeart Media. It will be played every hour on the hour until 10 p.m on its release day. It is currently available on digital platforms.

The track is a follow up to the smash hit “Love Again” with Daniel Caesar. This song hit the number one spot on the Urban AC chart last year. It was also nominated for a Grammy.

“Baby Mamma” features Chance The Rapper and comes from the brand Nu Entertainment/Entertainment. Produced by Hit-Boy & Brandy. It will feature on Brandy’s highly anticipated new album which fans can expect later this year.

As the name suggests, it is about motherhood. The new track is a tribute to mothers all over the world. The inspiration for which comes from Brandy’s own experience raising her daughter Sy’rai. Of the song Brandy said, “My new single is about embracing the strength and fortitude needed not only in motherhood, but in life. I’m am thrilled that Chance joined me on this track, and I hope my fans find it as uplifting as I intended it to be!”

But that’s not all. The video for “Baby Mamma” is set to drop on May 4. BET will premier the official video at 12 p.m ET just in time for mothers day. It will be available to watch via BET Jams, BET Soul and BET.com. The video is directed by Derek Blan alongside creative director Frank Gatson.
