HBCU school Bennett College is next in line to lose their accreditation due to low enrollment. The university was founded on August 01, 1873 in Greensboro, North Carolina and it is the first HBCU to enroll women only besides Spelman College. Bennett has faced probation for the past two years due to financial troubles but they are not giving up without a fight according to the school’s president, Phyllis Worthy Dawkins.
Here is a statement from Ms. Dawkins:
-“People care about Bennett. They are asking what they can do. We need your donations and connections for unrestricted funding, this is a call to action for those willing to stand with Bennett.”

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) announced today that they are removing the female school off it’s membership. The school filed an appeal to the SACSCOC and the SACSCOC has 45 days on their decision on the appeal. It is very important to keep our HBCUs alive so they can continue to leave legacies for generations. Send donations to the UNCF (United Negro College Fund) and also to the university. It’s time for their alumnae to ban together and give all they can to save this intuition.
