Trends were obvious at this year’s Emmy Awards. We’ve seen a lot of metallics, neutrals and also multi colored pieces. All in different silhouettes however. These ladies wore gowns that we ought to remember so check them out!
Tessa Thompson out-shined everyone else at the Emmys this year – literally. The star wore an oil-slick rainbow dress by Rosie Assoulin . Not only was it multi colored but the metallic dress also featured a high neck and multiple cut outs around the upper body. She kept her makeup neutral, hair was sleeked back and let her dress do all the talking.
The young Black-ish star showed up at the event in custom Prada. The sandy beige tulle gown also had aquamarine embroidery which added a fresh pop of color to the overall look. Her makeup was fresh and natural and the starlet was just glowing throughout the night.
Ultimate cool girl Zoe Kravitz was obviously going to make our list. Wearing a feather finished dress is not something everyone can pull off without looking like Big Bird from Sesame Street, but of course Zoe pulls it off like no other. She wore a Dior Haute Couture multi colored gown and had diamond accessories to match.
I think we’re beginning to see a trend here…metallic gowns seem to always make it on the best dressed list. Lavern Cox wore a gunmetal mermaid gown by designer Naeem Khan that accentuated all her curves and we are here for it.
Keeping it neutral sometimes also wins. Thandie Newton wore a blush toned Jason Wu gown that gave us all kinds of flirty feels. The tones in her makeup were kept similar to that of her dress and her hair was in a messy high bun.
