Calling all natural haired Queens and bearded Kings to #CurlFest2018! CurlFest is officially back Saturday July 21, 2018, so make sure you’re prepared to show out and stand out in the most afro-centric way. Below are 3 ways to take your CurlFest look to the next level!
CurlFest is Brooklyn’s best natural beauty festival at Prospect Park. It’s a celebration of the best afros, twist-outs, blow outs, dread locs and #beardgamestrong galore. Just imagine a family get together (even if you don’t know anyone) with all things hair, good vibes, and every product junkies favorite place to be.
First thing on our list is hair- that’s no surprise. The best thing about CurlFest is that there is no such thing as a failed hairstyle, it’s all about how you rock it. Rock your absolute best twist-out, wash-n-go, or bantu knot out. Pick out your biggest afro (save the worry of sweating out a hairstyle), use Marley hair for the longest havana twists, or glam up a bantu knot out without taking it out.
Curlfest brings out the best print on print slay for the summer. Men and women do it for the culture and show out with the most beautiful Ankara outfits. Have fun with the prints and mix them up for a colorful surprise.
Last but certainly not least to add to your CurlFest look are big earrings. I’m not just talking about hoops, I’m talking about the big, fabulous, head turning earrings used as statement pieces. This is the perfect opportunity to support black owned businesses, and rock earrings with Afros, a #AllBlackMatters fist, or an Afro pick.
