We’ve been here before. Endlessly scrolling through Spotify to find new music for our monthly playlists. But, there’s one artist that has us covered for November and that is Shenna. The New York City singer-songwriter released her single “Magenta”, a confidence anthem with electronic beats and provocative lyrics- think along the lines of Little Mix and Ariana Grande. Produced by Austin Bello, the upbeat song brings out your inner fierceness, whether you’re on your commute, walking down the street, or singing into your hairbrush.
Originally from Virginia, she started singing at the age of seven and joined a production company at 10 years old. Since then, her career has gained momentum; in 2014, she released a collection of songs, Dream in Color, and in 2016 released her debut album Made in Gold. Her songs have been featured on platforms like VH1 and PopDose, television shows such as Finding Carter, Teen Mom OG, and the indie film Miss Stevens. Her music and live shows have gained her a following of listeners who she likes to call “dreamers”. On November 18, she will feature in the National Sawdust’s “The Revolution” series – an event recognizing Harlem and Brooklyn based artists – at Volume 21.
